Parents - You may now sponsor your child's classroom!   Almost every school in the Pioneer Valley is actively using NIE.  Teachers use the newspaper in their classrooms because the newspaper is an excellent alternative to outdated textbooks.

• Young adults who remember using the newspaper in school are more likely to develop lifelong readership habits than those who say they had no exposure to newspapers in school. This comes from a study of 1,500 18-to-34-year-olds, 2003, Newspaper Association of America.
